What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign: an invisible way to straighten your teeth.
Invisalign is a series of clear aligners. The teeth aligners are custom-made, removable and renowned for being comfortable. Your Invisalign certified dentist progressively changes the Invisalign aligners about every two weeks to fit the new teeth arrangement.
Since its introduction in 1999, Invisalign has been marketed as invisible orthodontics to adults concerned about the aesthetic impact of wires and metalworks on their smiles. Unlike braces, with the Invisalign® system, there is nothing on your smile to hide.
Pure Dentistry is a provider of Invisalign® treatment to the south side Brisbane suburbs of Upper Mt Gravatt, Mansfield, Wishart and eight-mile plains.
If your teeth have shifted since wearing braces or if you have over-crowded teeth, or if you have large gaps between your teeth and some of your teeth are too far apart, then Invisalign® can give you a reason to smile confidently again.
It normally takes a patient a few weeks to get used to the Invisalign trays; after that, Invisalign® is claimed to be comfortable because Invisalign includes clear teeth aligners. There are no wires, and there are no brackets in Invisalign. Invisalign is removable, and eating, brushing, and flossing are not a problem.

How does Invisalign work?
Your Invisalign dentist decides if Invisalign is right for you. Then the dentist puts together a treatment plan. A 3D image of the jaw is produced and the Invisalign dentist can work with the 3D model and move the teeth on the computer screen and foresee how the Invisalign trays enhance your smile
using the latest 3D technology, the dentist instructions are converted into a series of clear and nearly undetectable teeth aligner trays. The number of Invisalign aligners required varies from patient to patient but 20 to 29 aligners should be expected. When you wear these aligners, your teeth are gradually shifted into the desired place. Your invisalign dentist monitors this progress every few weeks and maintains the shift of your teeth on track. You should expect to have fortnightly dental appointments because new Invisalign trays are required every two weeks. You can visually notice positive progress between your invisalign appointments.
Are you thinking about options for aligning your teeth?
Dental veneers, braces and Invisalign are three options for perfecting your smile. Each one of these options fits better in certain situations.
Invisalign vs Braces
Invisalign is brace-less Orthodontics.
Braces, metalwork and wires are attached to the outside of your teeth. Yes. The world can see them and most patients prefer not to smile while wearing braces.
With Invisalign, metal is removed from the equation. Invisalign utilises clear plastic moulds. They are fully removable and you can eat and floss normally. With Invisalign, our patients feel free to smile throughout the treatment. But because Invisalign aligners are removable, the treatment requires a higher level of discipline and commitment from the patient.
Braces usually require adjustment in a dental clinic whereas Invisalign trays don’t require adjustment because they don’t have wires or brackets. This can save you a couple of visits to your dentist.
Invisalign vs Dental Veneer
Dental veneers are a set of thin layers that the dentist affixes to your teeth like a cover. Invisalign on the other hand straightens your teeth. Many dentists believe that in many cases, Invisalign yields better results compared to veneers. Veneers tend to last less than twenty years. Veneers can also break. The dentist needs to etch the tooth and to remove the veneer, the dentist should construct an alternative cover for your tooth.
Invisalign Prices in Brisbane
A short rough answer is from about $4000 to $7000. Invisalign has been around for almost 20 years now. In the early days, it took a few consultations in a general dental office to explain how Invisalign works. These days most of our patients in Brisbane are almost familiar with Invisalign.
The first question for most of our patients is: how much does Invisalign cost in Brisbane? As mentioned above, roughly about $4,000 to $7000 but when it comes to prices for Invisalign, you should know that generally, there is no set cost for Invisalign in Brisbane. To provide you with a firm estimate, you would need to have a quick appointment with one of our Invisalign-certified dentists so that the dentist can examine your jaw and your teeth. The good news is that Invisalign could cost you less than you think.

How to care for your Invisalign trays?
Except when drinking or eating, the Invisalign trays should be worn constantly. Food can get trapped between the Invisalign tray and your tooth if you don’t remove your trays when consuming food. Removing your trays when drinking and eating prevent tooth decay caused by trapped food in your Invisalign tray.
Would Invisalign work for me?
Invisalign treatment can usually treat the same dental problems as braces. The dental issues below can be treated with Invisalign:
Malocclusion (mis-aligned bite)
- Over Lapping teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Overly crowded teeth
- Crooked teeth
To find out if Invisalign would work for you, you would need an Invisalign consultation with your dentist. Unfortunately, Invisalign treatment is not for everyone. The invisible system of Invisalign is not as effective for treating rotated teeth or a tipped teeth. The success of Invisalign depends on patient commitment and cooperation. The treatment schedule would be impacted if the patient does not comply with the Dentist instructions.
