What dental services are available?
Pure Dentistry provides general and complex dental care for adults, and dentistry for children from their first baby teeth onwards. Our services include check-ups, emergency dentistry, dental implants, root canal treatment, wisdom teeth removal, crowns, dentures, gum disease treatment, cosmetic dentistry, teeth grinding mouthguards, sleep dentistry and sedation options, and children’s dentistry.
When are we open, and how do you make an appointment?
Pure Dentistry is open 7 days a week (call first for an appointment). Our phone line is answered from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM every day. For today’s exact opening hours, check our Google Business Profile.
To see a dentist, book online at any time or call us first on (07) 3343 4869. Availability changes hourly, so walk-ins without an appointment may not be able to be seen. You can also call us about pre-operative and post-operative care, rescheduling, or questions about treatment you have already started.
Who can access our services?
Anyone can book directly with us; referral is not essential, but preferred for young children. We treat adult teeth and baby teeth. For very young children, a referral from your regular dental clinic is preferred because it lets us report back to your referring dentist and support your child’s ongoing preventive care.
Pure Dentistry is a private billing practice, and payment is required on the day of service. We accept WorkCover claims, DVA, Child Safety arrangements, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM), and travel insurance. Health fund claiming is explained under treatment costs below.
Our large team speaks multiple languages. If you would like your visit in a language other than English, call us and we will arrange a day and time that suits.
We do not bulk bill, do not accept the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), and do not accept Queensland Health dental vouchers.
What if you need help when we are closed?
Our phones are generally answered from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 7 days a week, so for the most urgent dental problems, you can reach us directly. Between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM, the phones are not staffed. Call (07) 3343 4869 and leave a voicemail, or book online at any time; we will call you back when our team is back. For anything life-threatening, see below.
When does a dental problem need a hospital emergency department?
Go straight to your nearest hospital emergency department, or call Triple Zero (000), when a dental problem affects breathing or swallowing, causes bleeding that will not stop, involves a serious head or face injury, or makes you or your child seriously unwell. These situations need hospital care first, and dental treatment can follow once you are safe.
Call Triple Zero (000) if you or the person you are caring for:
- has trouble breathing or swallowing, or is drooling because swallowing is too difficult
- has swelling in the mouth, face or neck that is getting worse quickly, especially swelling under the tongue, towards the eye, or down the neck
- has a severe allergic reaction to a medicine, such as swelling of the lips or tongue, a widespread rash, or trouble breathing
- collapses, is hard to wake, or becomes confused or unresponsive
Go to your nearest hospital emergency department if you have:
- bleeding from the mouth that has not stopped after 30 minutes of firm, constant pressure, such as biting down on clean gauze or a clean folded cloth
- a fever of 38°C or higher, together with a swollen face or jaw, or with feeling very unwell
- swelling spreading around the eye, or any change to your eyesight, alongside a tooth or gum infection
- difficulty opening your mouth, together with swelling or fever
- an injury that may have broken your jaw or another part of your face, for example, from a fall, sport, or an accident, especially if your teeth no longer meet together the way they used to
- a knock to the head followed by loss of consciousness, vomiting, or confusion
- a deep cut to the face, lips, or inside the mouth that may need stitches
- a tooth, filling, or piece of a denture that may have been breathed in rather than swallowed, especially if there is coughing or wheezing
- a child with a dental problem who cannot drink, is unusually drowsy or floppy, or is quickly getting worse
You do not need a referral to attend an emergency department. For urgent dental problems that are not on this list, an emergency dentist is usually the right place to start.
How much will my dental treatment cost?
Treatment costs at Pure Dentistry are personal and tooth specific, so an accurate quote can only be given after a dentist has examined you. Many factors shape the cost, including your general health and medical history, which can change which treatment options are safe and suitable for you.
This is why we do not quote treatment costs over the phone. Your dentist first needs a close examination, and sometimes dental X-rays, which show what cannot be seen by looking in the mouth: the inside of the tooth, its roots and root canals, and how close they sit to nearby structures such as the main nerve in the lower jaw.
After your examination, your dentist explains your treatment options and the cost of each one, so you can decide what is right for you. No treatment goes ahead without your approval. If you have health cover, most Australian health funds can be claimed on the spot through our HICAPS and Tyro terminals, and you pay only the gap.
We accept Afterpay and TLC, and we can help you look at other arrangements, such as paying for dental care using superannuation, to make necessary treatment easier to manage.
Where are we and how do you get here?

Entry is step-free from the car park and street, our treatment rooms are wheelchair accessible, accessible parking bays are directly in front of the clinic entrance, and an accessible toilet is available on the same level.
